Our Happy Tails

Our Urgent Tails

Stories from the Heart
It was a long journey, but Timmy finally has finally
made it home. From being rescued from an abandoned
trailer in February 2006 and staying at Roscommon
Animal Shelter until April 2006, until he took a two
and half hour ride to his foster dad's home in Royal
Oak. He stayed there for almost four months.
During this time he visited 3 different vets, and
went on several long trips to see the cardiologist
at MSU. Finally, he took his last long trip as a
foster dog in August, when he went to his forever
home in Hemlock, MI, another two hour drive!
Little did Timmy know that this last car ride would leave him in a home he had only visited in his puppy
dreams. A beautiful place to play. A place where animals are treated with great care and compassion.
This was HIS new home and he fit right in immediately. Instantly he made friends with his soon to be
brother Wally, another rescued pitbull. They chased each other and wrestled, and Timmy watched and
copied all of Wally's moves, as only a little brother could. Then he made friends with the many other
animals and even has a new girlfriend,  Honey, a foster dog from Hurricane Katrina. Best news of all
is that Timmy now weighs about 45 pounds, a huge increase from the meager 4 pounds when he was
first found.
"Timmy has all the toys he could ever wish for"
Timmy's journey is not quite over yet as he still needs to take bi-annual trips to the MSU
cardiologist, in order to manage his heart condition. Thankfully, his new parents are committed to
helping Timmy stay healthy and live a long and happy life, therefore, now they take him to MSU.

It took many dedicated people and much hard work to help save Timmy,

of his story. Almost Home is thankful to all that have helped Timmy in his quest to survive.
