Our Happy Tails

Our Urgent Tails

Stories from the Heart
Henry and Henrietta
Henry and Henrietta are truly sweethearts. I rescued both of them
from euthanasia last week or so ago. Both were very sick with upper
respiratory illness. I walked into the sick room at the shelter and
their cages were right next to each other. They seemed to know each
other but I wasn't sure. What I was sure of was that I needed to get
them out of the shelter. Henry was near death. The vet tech at the
shelter was very doubtful he would make it. I felt a bond with both
and kept a positive attitude. I took Henry to our rescue Vet and he
seemed leary of Henry's recovery. Persians have a really hard time
with upper respiratory stuff. Their facial structure is much different

then other cats. I asked the Vet to do everything to save Henry's life and he did. I took him home. He
still would not eat or drink. I decided since Henrietta was already sick too I would put them
together...Henrietta was over joyed. She rubbed herself against Henry and licked his little flat face. At
first I thought Henry was going to be angry but quit the contrary he laid down next to her. I tried to get
Henry to drink but he wouldn't have anything to do with food or water. He was emaciated and dehydrated
and I knew he had to at least drink. Henrietta got up and walked over to the bowl of water and laid down
next to it and to my surprise Henry followed and started to drink, drink and drink. Henrietta just sat
there watching him. Later when I put food down Henrietta ran to the food bowl only to stop and lay down
next to the food bowl and sure enough Henry came over and ate while Henrietta laid next to him watching
him eat. Henry and Henrietta are both doing really well. They are getting stronger every day. I don't
think I have ever experienced anything like this between two cats in a long time. Henrietta's devotion to
Henry is quite remarkable and I feel very strong they should be adopted together. They are both so
beautiful in and out. Henrietta is the most affectionate cat I have ever met. She has the kindest flow of
energy that makes you feel so good just to be in her presence. Henry is quite the funny one and entertains
Henrietta now that he is feeling better. Please open your heart and home to two beyond darling kitty cats
that will truly entertain you and melt your heart at the same time.
